You can quickly start your own authorized file sharing network to connect with family, friends and colleagues. You can easily make your files/folders available to those you wish to, by making public or private shares for the specified files or folders. Nivio Live consists of two parts one is for creating and another for viewing and downloading/uploading shares.

 

Nivians are those users who have an account with Nivio and non-Nivians are those who do not have an account.

Share – It is content (document, photo or a music file) within a file or folder. You can make public and private shares from the files or folders. All Nivians and non-Nivians are allowed to view and download public shares. You can make private shares by giving permission to nivian or a non-Nivian to view and download shares.

 

Creating Shares – You can create as many shares. Creating a new share involves four steps. First you Create a file/folder on your Nivio desktop which you want to share then follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Select a share type - Click on the live tab in the Nivio centre. Click on New Share button on the right hand side. Now select a share type (document, image or music theme) for your share & click next. This will filter your content between image, music & documents and put your shared content under corresponding share type.

 
 
2. Select Files & Folders - Select the file,folder or photo you want to share and click on next button at the bottom
 
 

3. Select People – Here you can make your share as public or private. For making share as public, choose everyone option – visible to all nivians and non-Nivians. Choose only the following people option to make your share as private. You have to click on the contacts list from Nivio and email contacts to select your buddy & click next.

 

Adding Buddy - If you don't find the person's name whom you want to make a private share then you can add buddy by their name, Nivio ID or e-mail address. If your buddy is a nivian, their e-mail address will come under Nivio contacts otherwise under e-mail contacts.

 

4. Share Details– You can give a share name, select a thumbnail and add a description to your share where the Share name is a mandatory field and description is optional. Click on publish to complete your share.

 
 

Note: Nivian and non-Nivians can view all shared content on web with the URL as“x.live.nivio.com” where x is the user name of the Nivian.

 

Web Nivio Live – You can view and download shared files and folders. Here you will find documents, folders, and files publicly shared by a nivian.

 

On Home Page of the URL, you can see three tabs

On Live Home Tab

On the home page you can see latest six (maximum) public shared contents with a symbol (+) means more. On the right hand side, you will find login controls from where the private shares can be accessed by Nivians and non-Nivians after entering their user name and password. Nivians can enter their Nivio account user name and password whereas for non-Nivians, Nivio will generate random user email ID and password, which will be e-mailed to them. After logging in private shared user can see the private shares at the left side of the page as a thumbnail with description and share name. They can view the particulars of the shared contents after clicking on the thumbnail. Under login controls section you can see your personal details, latest public and private shares. On the bottom of the page you will find two tabs document, photos. Document tab is a default tab, where you can see all the files which are publicly shared whereas on the photos tab you can see all the photos in a thumbnail format. A download dialog box will be displayed, when you click on photo or a document.

 
On Documents Tab

See your entire shared documents folder on the left hand at top of the page in the tree view format. Click on the folder (can be subfolder) node to get the details of the shared content. A download dialog box will be displayed, when you click on a document.

 

On Photos Tab

See your entire shared photos within a folder on the left hand at top of the page in the tree view format. Click on the folder (can be subfolder) node to get the details of the shared content. A download dialog box will be displayed, when you click on photograph.
