On logging onto Nivio, the user can view his/her desktop, just as it is on his/her home computer. Most users like to customize their desktop with wall paper & screen savers, use of Quick Launch or Icons over the screen, this ability is disabled at the moment but soon users will be able to do this.

Due to constraints in streaming technology, streaming Video is not always as smooth as we would like. We are working to develop a fix for this.

Since gaming requires a complete refresh of the screen in terms of graphics, Gaming can seem a little disjointed.

Printers are fine as we can detect what you have but we are working with Nivio to enable users to use their other functionality.

Currently you cannot use Skype, but you can use software which only required one way audio such as iTunes. This will be fixed in the next 2 months.

Nivio is run on a scalable architecture which means that as soon as the architecture becomes over 60% utilized processes initiate additional resources.

Nivio will work on a 486 machine; therefore it will work on just about everything apart from your old commodore 64.

All Nivio needs is a browser so on that basis yes Nivio is platform independent.

The nivioCentre functionality is very similar to that of the control panel in the start menu on windows XP. The nivioCentre allows a user to manage storage & manage applications from their Nivio experience.

New services can be added to the Nivio desktop via the nivioCentre and are paid for on a 30 day subscription from point of order.

Changes made through the NivoCentre will take effect immediately. Typically if you encounter problems simply log off & log back in again & the changes will take effect.

The user can request a trial of software. The software icon will appear on the desktop for 30 days. After this period the user gets the options to continue with the service. If so the billing is altered to reflect the change. After a user has had a trial for 30 days they are not permitted to have another trial.

Nivio will as much as possible group the applications together so that the user has a choice of application based on what task they want to complete.

Nivio collect revenues from the customer & pass these back to the software vendors. Nivio are in effect simply a reseller.

nivioLive is an application that allows users to share the contents of their Nivio account with other Nivio users plus non-nivio users. The application allows users to set up buddy lists where content is shown either to individuals or it can be shred publically.

Nivio has a dedicated support infrastructure based in India which offers email based support. Our development team usually can be found on our forums, to answer any general questions about Nivio.

Emails & forum posts are responded to by the Nivio team made up of developers and systems engineers plus a general support desk when it gets busy.

Ultimately we aim to have a 24x7x365 support structure but this will only be possible once we have enough customers to warrant the cost. (We are a start up after all) But given that we are simply replicating the desktop we don't expect that may support calls. Currently a Nivio technician will answer all emails within 24Hours.

The End user data is always available rather than backed up, since backup implies that there are times when customer data is old, therefore the backing up of data is an ongoing task to ensure Zero customer data loss.

We have a network operations centre based out of Delhi manned 24x7x365, which monitors our global network, by deploying nodes within the data centres themselves, and also monitoring externally via third party partners.

Nivio deploys robots which login at random time during the day, and provide a stream of statistical data to, to ensure that the customer experiences stays within 5% standard deviation of the optimal customer experience measure. Every possible step has been taken in the design of the Nivio architecture to limit the effect emergency maintenance on users. As such, part of the system can be repaired whilst a live service continues on the remaining architecture.
